John Grix has been the director of Kettunen Center for over 20 years. He also served as a 4-H educator in Hillsdale County prior to coming to Kettunen Center. He is certified as a Conference Center Professional and has served as vice president of the International Association of Conference Center Administrators. Currently, John is president of the Michigan Association of Extension 4-H Youth Staff.

Rose Lockhart is the food service supervisor at Kettunen Center. She has been working at the center for 13 years, but she has been in the food service industry for 38 years. She enjoys trying new recipes and cooking with locally grown produce.

Jamie Mielke-Mitchell, Operations Coordinator, joined the Kettunen Center staff in the fall of 2006. Jamie schedules all the events/conference at the center. She is in the process of receiving her Conference Center Professional(CCP) certification through the International Association of Conference Center Administrators (IACCA). She enjoys meeting coordinators after all the planning discussions and seeing their hard work come alive.

Lauren Heilman has worked as Kettunen Center’s business administrator/human resource coordinator since 1997. She is responsible for managing and administrating financial and business affairs for Kettunen Center and the Michigan 4-H Foundation human resources. She has a Bachelors degree in accounting with a dual minor in computer information systems & management as well as an education degree in history, social studies and business education.

Andrea Grix is the education program coordinator for Kettunen Center programs & special projects. She also serves as the Michigan 4-H Youth Conservation Council Program Coordinator and resource person for state-level Michigan 4-H Environmental & Outdoor Education programs. Andrea enjoys the four seasons at Kettunen Center by hiking, skiing, gardening, biking and birding along the outdoor trails near Center Lake.

Cookie Holmes is the housekeeping coordinator at Kettunen Center. Cookie enjoys making all Kettunen Center guests feel like they are at home by making our rooms as clean and as fresh as possible. She has been in the hospitality business for over 10 years.

Kama Ross has been the assistant program coordinator since September 2001. Programs include TRACKERS, Elderhostel, TREE, Family Day events and Learning Science through the Arts Camp.

Steve Neuman is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds as well as overseeing and scheduling the maintenance and guest service staff.
