Chris Gentry

Chris was named director of Kettunen Center in June 2012.  He has 25 years of non-profit organizational leadership and management experience in a variety of roles, including manager of a 180-acre facility in Ohio. Chris brings experience in facilities management, environmental and outdoor education delivery management, fund development, marketing and personnel administration to Kettunen Center.

Jamie Mielke-Mitchell

Jamie Mielke-Mitchell joined the Kettunen Center staff in the fall of 2006. Jamie schedules all the events/conference at the center. She has received her Conference Center Professional (CCP) certification through the International Association of Conference Center Administrators (IACCA). She enjoys meeting coordinators after all the planning discussions and seeing their hard work come alive.

Diana Horton

Diana has worked at Kettunen Center since the spring of 2011 and has over 35 years experience in the food industry.  Diana enjoys cooking for her family and friends and especially loves being in the kitchen with her identical twin sister and bouncing ideas off each other.

Lauren Heilman

Lauren Heilman has worked as Kettunen Center’s business administrator/human resource coordinator since 1997. She is responsible for managing and administrating financial and business affairs for Kettunen Center and the Michigan 4-H Foundation human resources. She has a Bachelors degree in accounting with a dual minor in computer information systems and management as well as an education degree in history, social studies and business education.

Laura Jacobson-Pentces

Laura Jacobson-Pentces, a former high school biology and social studies teacher, found her niche when she began teaching outdoor and environmental programs at Kettunen Center in 1990.  “One of the best parts of my job is being outdoors with groups.”  Laura has a BS in biology and history from Central Michigan University, a MA in history from Central, and a MS in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.  An avid and devoted runner, she also enjoys skiing, hiking, fat -tire biking, swimming, birding, baking, quilting and reading.  She is married and has a teenage son.

Cookie Holmes

Cookie Holmes is the Housekeeping Manager at Kettunen Center. Cookie enjoys making all Kettunen Center guests feel like they are at home by making our rooms as clean and as fresh as possible. She has been in the hospitality business for over 10 years.

Steve Neuman

Steve Neuman is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds as well as overseeing and scheduling the maintenance and guest service staff.

Nicole Coats-Quales

Nicole's primary responsibilities are to develop and implement sales and marketing plans.... essentially to spread the word telling everyone how fantasic Kettunen Center is so that they come and give it a try!  Outside of work Nicole enjoys spending time with her family.  As a blended family her and her husband share 8 kids!
